Nihilent COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
The outbreak of COVID-19 and its manifestation as a pandemic in the last few weeks has made an unprecedented impact on all of us, either directly or indirectly. Nihilent has put in place a comprehensive operational and Business Continuity Plan (BCP), ensuring that business operations do not get disrupted and at the same time taking into consideration the safety and health of the associates and the clients, which is of paramount importance. We have initiated the following proactive steps globally:
-
All International and Domestic travel, except in case of emergency, had been barred effective the first week of March 2020. In case of emergency, travel is permitted only with approval from Vice Chairman/CEO/CFO. Wherever return travel of any associates, whose visas were expiring, was permitted, in compliance with immigration controls. In all such cases Self- Quarantine of such associate has been instituted for 14 days to prevent the spread of the virus to work locations and society at large.
-
Strict access control measures have been put in place to prevent undue visitors / third parties /suppliers into the premises. We are frequently sanitizing and fumigating our office premises along with providing sanitizers, and other safety precautions across all locations. This continues during the lockdown, as these offices are still supported by a few critical staff.
-
We convened emergency council meetings and activated our first-level Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to ensure that uninterrupted services can be provided to our clients in this emergency created by this pandemic. This continuity and exigency plan included getting our associates ready to work from home as would be required. We ensured that our communications, security, and infrastructure were ready after testing in such situations. We appraised our clients of the situation and had detailed discussions to ensure that we take care of their requirements.
-
Work from home measures was implemented in a phased manner ensuring the client-specific confidentiality and security protocols are in order to ensure continuity of businesses. By 16th March 2020, we have successfully and seamlessly moved all our associates working from home globally (except a few internal IT infrastructure personnel who were required to support the associates working from home). We were thus in full compliance with the mandatory lockdown ordered by the Government Authorities on 20th March 2020 in India and across the geographies we operate.
-
We are in constant communication with our associates and have issued repeated advisories with protocols and guidelines issued by the Government Authorities.
The Management team is monitoring the operations actively to ensure business continuity while giving utmost importance to safety and health.
