Home/ Global Design Thinking Expert LC Singh Addresses Silicon Valley-based CXOs

LC Singh, an internationally acclaimed design and systems thinking expert and the CEO of India headquartered Nihilent Technologies addressed a select gathering of business leaders at the NGC Convention Center today. LC, as he is popularly known, walked the delegates through the concept of design thinking and its extreme significance in understanding the drivers of the customer of the future.

Design thinking, a collaborative and human-centered approach to problem solving, makes it essential for organizations to observe, interact and immerse in their customers’ environment and experience the problems first hand before attempting to design a solution. The process of design thinking is generally followed in five sequential modes: empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. LC explained this concept at length saying empathy lies at the core of any solution offering. He touched upon examples of global behemoths, once at the forefront of innovation, which eventually sunk into oblivion owing to the lack of customer-centricity. Elaborating on the concept of the customer of the future, he explained that people have embraced digital technologies like never before and are increasingly using sophisticated user experience platforms in all aspects of their daily lives. The onus is on the product and services companies to develop solutions that directly talk to the new generation.

The seminar was attended by executives from organizations across different industries representing small and big brands including Walmart and Google. The fact that Santa Clara, which is at the heart of Silicon Valley, is a hub of design thinking and home to some of the greatest design firms in the world also helped in making the seminar highly interactive. It may be noted that LC has already conducted similar sessions in the US earlier this month, including another one at Santa Clara, and is due to present at Philadelphia and New Jersey as part of his tour.
