Empowering the Tribals With Education
It is always a humbling experience to reach out to the unreached. We take immense pride in associating with Ekal Vidyalaya and its Friends of Tribal Society initiative in the Pune region that covered 270 Villages. We at Nihilent are honoured to receive the Gandhi Peace Prize by the Government of India for our CSR activities in collaboration with Ekal Vidyalaya.
In these 270 villages, Nihilent has collaborated with Ekal Vidyalaya across initiatives aimed up improving the quality of their lives through education. It is a very comprehensive exercise that ushered in a significant impact on these villagers lives.
Ekal Vidyalaya is a movement involved in the integrated and holistic development of rural and tribal India and Nepal. The main activity undertaken in this movement is to run one-teacher schools (known as Ekal Vidyalayas) all over India, in the remotest rural and tribal villages to take the education to every child. The overriding philosophy of Ekal Vidyalaya movement is to take a holistic approach of social and economic development to tribal and rural India.
The Ekal movement aims to help eradicate illiteracy from rural and tribal India and Nepal following the philosophy of rural development based on the criteria of equality and inclusiveness across all the sections of the society. Ekal Gramothan Foundation, with a mission to make farming profitable and sustainable through socio-economic empowerment of farmers and promotion of indigenous seeds & chemical-free organic farming.
